Macca's Story

I love the quote... " Put it this way, you have 2 choices at this point. 1) you can give up, throw in the towel and you definitely know the outcome of this. You can never achieve what you've always wanted. 2) you can stay focused on the end point, give total commitment and see what the outcome is, you will never know until you've made the choice".

What was the best part of this journey?
The best part of this journey is that I have finally found something that actually works. When I am consistent with my choices I feel so well, I am able to get rid of fat and my body is not as sore. I feel much better about myself, and I love that I can move around so much easier doing my day to day activities.

What was the biggest habit holding you back? Have you conquered it completely or are you still working on it?
Slipping back into old eating habits is definitely an issue for me, and I will continue to work on that. I am working on being consistent with my lifestyle, and not allowing foods that don’t serve me to creep in. I can enjoy festivities, but then continue with my healthy eating habits. I am getting better at it, but still have a lot of work to do. I am sick of going 2 steps forward, 1 step back. It messes with my head and my self esteem. I am determined to change this, so still working on it!

What did you struggle with the most on this journey and how did you overcome it?
Consistency with my food, which I am still working on. I am so much better at it now, but I still have work to do. The best thing now is that I know how well I feel when I make good choices and that is such a great reward.

What did you find the easiest?
Going to The Funk has 100% been the easiest part of my transformation. I absolutely love going to Funky, I could do that 7 days a week. I love the social side of Funky, how strong I am feeling and how good I feel after exercising.

What advice would you give to someone who resonates with your story and might be struggling?
Just keep going, don't give up. Take a break if you need to, but never give up on yourself or your goals and dreams. You deserve to feel well and live life to your fullest. You may bugger up sometimes, and that is ok. But take the time to reflect on why you made the choices you did and think about what you can do differently next time. It is amazing what you learn about yourself when you take the time to reflect, and from that can come amazing growth if you want to make changes based to what you have discovered. Another thing that I think is super important to understand, well for me anyway, a big transformation takes time. There can be a lot of habits that need time to break and change in order for changes to happen, and sometimes you need to bugger up before you even know that those habits were even there in the first place. The exciting thing is, when you identify bad habits, then you can work on those habits and change them to better habits that will help you achieve your goals. It takes time to change your body composition, but just keep going, trust the process and the changes will come. You will feel amazing for it. This is not a plan that you follow to lose weight and then just go back to your old way of eating and/or living, this is a lifestyle. Stay consistent, and you will eventually achieve your goals. It does take time, and that is ok, you are worth it!

In bullet point form, list 3 ingredients you think are vital to a successful transformation.

1. Consistency

2. Food prep

3. Support

What did you learn from this experience?

  • That I had some very bad eating habits and I didn't realise it. This really works, and when you follow your program properly you feel amazeballs.
  • I can actually lose cm, I just have to stay consistent with my nutrition choices
  • I love feeling well, vibrant, strong and healthy.
  • That I am an important role model to my kids and they are watching me closely. I have noticed that they really follow my lead. It is important for me to learn to be consistent with my lifestyle, so that they learn to be naturally healthy eaters. I am so pleased to say that we are all so much better at this than we use to be, and we will get even better. That is pretty exciting!
